» Case study: CIZ saves €34,000 in one year
» Case study: Kandinsky achieves cost savings of 26%

In just one year, CIZ achieved cost savings of 18.4% in printer supplies management.

CIZ is a Dutch health care authority that assesses whether patients are entitled to health care services through the General Accident Special Law. This law provides financial assistance to patients and seeks to improve their quality of life.
Situation:
  • Non-transparency of costs and inefficiencies in internal ordering, procuring and stocking of supplies due to the involvement of various departments
  • Delayed delivery and ordering errors
  • Valuable resources were captured in paper-based reporting activities instead of customer visits
  • Need for fleet optimization and cost analysis of 60 HP printers in 20 locations with an average total page volume of 1.2 million pages per month.
  • Imperfections in supply chain for printer supplies led to device downtime and loss of productivity
Solution:
  • Participation in the HP Pay For Print program
  • Automated ordering of printer supplies
  • Monitoring and reporting of device utilization rates
Results:
  • Process optimization led to significant savings in a short time
  • Cost savings of €34,600 (18.4%) by improving supplies stock management and order processing

Including hardware (€10K investment), Kandinsky achieved cost savings of 25.6% and total cost savings of €15,934 in a period of one year.

The holdings of Kandinsky College include four bilingual schools based in the Netherlands with approximately 6,000 students per year.
Situation:
  • Needed an effective printing solution that ensured cost transparency and print quality
  • Used utility-based model for supplies replenishment
  • Daily ordering of supplies by IT and procurement was time consuming and reduced productivity
  • Unexpected changes in printer fleet resulted in a need to store obsolete supplies that had already been purchased
  • Needed to supply four schools with a potential fleet of 160 printers with an average output of 3,500 pages/printer per month
Solution:
  • Automatic ordering through the HP Pay For Print utility
  • Monitoring and reporting functions
  • Delivery at device level
Results:
  • Supplies costs dropped from €78,244 to €62,310 per year
  • Efficiency gains
