Otmar Issing

Otmar Issing has been one of the most influential European central bankers over the past 10 years, being a member of the executive boards of the Bundesbank (German Central Bank) and the European Central Bank. Having studied economics at the Universities of Würzburg (Germany), London and Paris, he wrote his PhD on Monetary Problems within the European Union. He was appointed Professor at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (Germany), and Visiting Professor at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, for several projects he worked with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington D.C.
The German Government appointed him to their economic advisory board in 1988. Shortly after that he became Chief Economist and member of the executive board of the Bundesbank. In 1998 he joined the President Wim Duisenberg as Chief Economist and member of the executive board at the European Central Bank, he is the only member who has been voted for the maximum period of eight years in office. He retired from the European Central Bank in 2006.
At the European Central Bank, he was responsible for European Monetary Policy. He made all the decisions regarding the euro interest rate and was known for being the architect of the ‘Two Column Strategy’: economic indicators as well as monetary criteria (i.e. growth of money supply) must be considered for any decisions on interest rates.
Otmar Issing has published many articles and books including Monetary Policy in the Euro Area, Cambridge University Press.

Before joining Aviva he held a number of senior finance positions, including FD, in Telecom’s and Financial Services. He is also a Non-exec Director for an Acute Hospital Trust in Suffolk. He has been involved with forming and implementing Strategic Change Programmes for more than 15 years, more recently within the Offshoring and Shared Services arena. Jean-Claude Nobili

Mr Nobili joined the Cantonal Bank of Berne in 1977 as a National economy assistant of a member of the Executive Board. During his first years he was coordinating lectures at the University of Berne on selected questions on Swiss banking policy.
In his role as Head of Marketing (1981 - 1990) Mr Nobili was responsible for the external communication, and was also member of the project management group during the fusion of the Cantonal Bank of Berne with the Hypothekarkasse Berne.
He continued his career as Head of Management, followed by Head of Finances, and in 2003 became Head of the Executive Board.
Mr Nobili has a certificate as lic.rer.pol of the University of Berne on National economy, business economies and business law.

Jan Zadak serves as senior vice president and managing director for HP Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). In this role he chairs the regional leadership team responsible for the company strategy in EMEA, developing partnerships and key stakeholder relations for HP. As part of his role, he also leads the enterprise storage, systems and networking, software & solutions and services businesses, including sales and marketing to enterprise and public sector customers.
Prior to this role Zadak led the Enterprise Business Sales organization in EMEA. In this role he led HP’s Global Accounts sales organization in EMEA and was responsible for the management of top corporate and enterprise accounts as well as for driving profitable growth across the entire portfolio of enterprise storage and systems, software and services, and for providing best in class total customer experience to HP's Enterprise and Public Sector customers in the region.
Zadak joined Compaq Computer in 1997 and held several senior management roles in EMEA’s emerging markets including Central & Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Before joining Compaq, Zadak spent five years with Olivetti Czech Republic.
A native of the Czech Republic, Zadak graduated from the Czech Technical University of Prague, Faculty of Electrical Engineering in1988. He did a one year PhD study program at Universitaet Erlangen-Nuernberg in Germany in 1991, and gained a PhD from his alma mater, the Czech Technical University in 1992.

Allan Russell

Allan has had an exceptional and very long tenure, having joined SAS in 1980. As the third employee hired when the company was establishing its first European operation in the UK, he played a critical role in establishing SAS’ presence through EMEA and Asia Pacific. Over the years, he has been actively involved as a thought leader in extraordinary technical advancement, including SAS/Access products in the 1980s, Executive Information Systems and data warehousing in the 1990s, and score carding and performance management in the 2000s. Allan has been called upon often to paint a vision of where SAS is going in the marketplace.
While much of SAS Product Management focuses on what is required in upcoming releases within an 18-month time span, Alan Russell conducts research into longer-term industry trends that will drive SAS product requirements over a two- to five-year span or even longer. His research focusses on “Uses of BI in a Process Centric World” and covers areas such as Business Process Management, Business Activity Monitoring, SAS Workflow Tools and Integration between SAS and Process Platforms.
A critical part of his role is in helping deepen strategic relationships with customers who are making a significant investment in SAS products for use throughout the enterprise. Allan also speaks about emerging trends in the market at industry events and conferences, hosts executive visits to SAS locations, drives vision discussions with industry analysts, and publishes white papers or other collateral to support SAS thought leadership at the C Level.

Mohamed Dekhil is the Chief Technologist for Strategic Innovations at HP Labs in Palo Alto. He is responsible for creating and driving innovative solutions for several industries including financial services, retail, and hospitality in the areas of multi-channel information capture and management, personalized information delivery, and social media analytics and opinion mining. Dr. Dekhil has over 20 years of experience in the computer and information systems industry. He started his career designing and developing large scale software systems for retail chains and large hospitals to manage and analyze their operations. Previous positions include: Engineering Manager at Rainfinity (acquired by EMC), delivering software products for Internet security and storage high-availability; Project manager at the Software Technology Lab in HP Labs, working on application and service management; Senior Software Engineer at Sarcos Research Corp. designing and implementing virtual reality applications and software for non-invasive medical devices; and Research Associate at the National Research Center in Cairo, developing information and decision-support systems.
He earned his Master and PhD degrees in Computer Science from the University of Utah in 1994, and 1998 respectively. Wayne Lewin

Wayne leads the global Insurance team at HP. In this role he is responsible for HP’s strategy, solutions, and service frameworks in the Insurance sector. Wayne’s goal is to help Insurance firms maximize technology investments, growing HP’s presence in this important market as a result.
Since joining HP in 1997, Wayne has held marketing, business development, and strategic account management roles—all focused on the Financial Services Industry. In 2000 Wayne was named to lead Financial Services marketing for the U.S., establishing
a multi-year strategy for increasing HP’s presence in the marketplace. In 2002 Wayne assumed responsibility for strategic initiatives with one of the world’s largest Insurance companies, and one of HP’s largest accounts. Through direct collaboration with company senior executives, a major strategic project breakthrough was achieved in less than one year. From 2005 until assuming his current role this year, Wayne led Strategy and Planning for HP’s global Financial Services Industry team.
Prior to joining HP, Wayne spent over 27 years in the Financial Services Industry. He has held executive positions at leading financial institutions, as well as founded a company to serve financial organizations. Wayne was COO of BAI, the leading research and education organization for the Financial Services Industry, where he also was responsible for CEO/CFO relationships with tier 1 financial firms. In 1985 Wayne founded Ist Financial Video, which became the largest provider of video training material to the industry.
Wayne has written more than 30 articles on management, marketing, and operational trends in financial services, and is often invited to speak at industry events. He has a bachelor’s degree from North Park University and a master’s from DePaul University.

Lawrence Ryan

Larry is HP’s Chief Technologist for the Financial Service Industry segment. In this role, Larry is
responsible for leading the technical strategy for the financial services segment, collaborating with
solution managers and peer CTO’s to exploit HP’s portfolio to build compelling business solutions,
and representing HP across the financial service industry standard bodies and forums.
Prior to this position, Larry was responsible for development of HP’s high performance computing
business in FSI, which is a rapidly growing business. He also led business development of
Linux/Open Source in FSI and built and directed Tandem’s/Compaq’s financial service industry
lab responsible for the development of solutions for this market. In this role, he led a team of
software and infrastructure engineers that integrated Tandem and third party products into complete
solutions, such as the NonStop Payments Factory.
Larry also worked in Tandem’s consulting group as a consulting architect (Tandem’s highest
architect position) leading projects at NASDAQ, Paris Stock Exchange, Vienna Stock Exchange,
Hong Kong Stock Exchange, Citigroup and other customers. Prior to that he proposed, developed
and deployed Tandem’s first remote electronic support platform, which included development of
messaging, communication and searching technology.
Throughout his career at HP, he has held management and technology lead roles in IT, software
development, consulting & integration, business development and pre-sales support. He has a
broad technology background spanning a number of platforms, including Tandem (NonStop),
Windows, UNIX, Linux, OS/360, OS/2 and Burroughs, as well as technologies, including
database, communications, messaging, languages, text processing and mining, high performance
computing, software development methodologies, enterprise application integration and high
performance transaction processing systems.
He is a PMI certified project manager, holds a MS in mathematics from the Courrant Institute NYU,
graduate certificate in banking from Adelphi University and certificate in financial engineering from
Cornell University. He is an active member of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronic
Engineers) and ACM (Association of Computer Machinery). He also served as an executive board
member of the Open Grid Forum.

He pioneered large core banking and multi year Solution and Services deals in the last four years - including Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, State Bank of India, UCO Bank and United Bank of India Led and managed relationship and benchmark certifications for Infosys applications which are now globally utilised and leveraged.
He also pioneered large core insurance implementations and acted as a Banking consultant to global and regional banking opportunities. FSI India now leads and delivers FSI solutions across the segment and is recognized as one of the leading SI in the country.
Presently the Global Director for Core Banking in the World Wide FSI team, he is mandated with leading the Hewlett-Packard initiative to take end to end responsibility, outsourcing and system integration of large core banking replacements and SOA enablement of legacy Prior to joining Hewlett-Packard, Sada was the Vice President of the Global Banking Business Unit of the Indian subsidiary of BULL of France.
He worked for over 2 decades in the retail banking in a large bank and also was responsible for the IT transformation of the bank.

Joe joined HP’s Imaging and Printing group in 2002, and managed HP’s Imaging and Printing solutions business in North America. Joe designed and built solutions that streamline document workflows, secure sensitive data and maintain regulatory compliance. Joe was instrumental in the creation, marketing and delivery of document management, infrastructure management and security technology solutions to meet the needs of HP’s Enterprise Financial Services customers.
Joe lives in Maplewood, NJ and works with global Financial Services firms out of HP’s New York, NY office.
