HP is pleased to announce the winners of its second annual HP Software Business Technology Optimization Awards and the HP Software Excellence in Innovation Awards in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. The awards recognise organisations that have used HP Software solutions to most effectively optimise business outcomes.
The HP Software Business Technology Optimization awards are given to customers that demonstrate exceptional achievement in the following areas:
- Integrated lifecycle approach to IT management
- Measurable business outcomes
- Alignment of the IT solution with business needs
The 2007 winners of the HP Software Business Technology Optimization Awards are as follows:
- BT Global Services, UK – Using integrated HP software solutions such as HP Quality Center software, HP Performance Center software and HP Business Service Automation, BT provided integration, testing and environment management for the sub-systems that make up the National Health Service (NHS) Spine. This is a core data storage and messaging platform that BT is building, which will help enable an electronic NHS Care Record for every patient, securely accessible by healthcare professionals at any NHS location in England.
- KMD, Denmark – Assuring customer satisfaction through operational quality is a key element of the company’s growth strategy. Integrated HP software solutions, including the HP Universal CMDB and monitoring services, give KMD visibility and control throughout the IT lifecycle—from application testing to operations—and across its customers’ distributed IT environments. As a result, this leading IT service provider attained 96% customer satisfaction on testing business applications in their Operational Quality Center.
- Rabobank, Netherlands – At Rabobank, HP Quality Center software, Performance Center software, Business Availability Center software and Service Management Center software bridge technology and business silos, providing an end-to-end view of business and operational performance. With the ability to measure service quality from the end-users’ perspective, the IT organization delivers on business-based service levels that its branches understand and that better reflect business demands. Tripling test coverage with HP software further improves service quality for the bank.
In addition, two customers were selected to receive the HP Software Award for Excellence in Innovation. This award recognizes organizations using HP Software to fuel innovation, gaining new market opportunities and competitive advantage as a result. The Innovation Award winners are:
- Vodafone, Germany – Using HP OpenCall Media Platform, Vodafone Germany delivered its innovative Visual Mailbox service in just seven months—well ahead of its competition. Vodafone expects the service will increase market penetration of its voicemail service and boost customer loyalty.
- Telecom Italia, Italy – Telecom Italia strives to attract and retain customers by speeding the time to market of rich media content; an innovative service-oriented architecture (SOA) provides the agility needed to support this business strategy. The company uses HP SOA Center software to guarantee governance, manageability and interoperability of its SOA environment.
The winning companies were recognised during the 2007 HP Software Universe event in Barcelona, Spain. The HP Software Awards of Excellence are offered annually at the HP Software Universe events.
